You can spend $$$ to have your heating and cooling people come replace your humidifier filter, or you can buy this and do it yourself.
The box has clear instructions and it takes zero intelligence. It's about as hard as cleaning the lint filter in your dryer- the difference is you just toss out the old filter and replace with the new, obviously. From start to finish, it takes about three and a half minutes.
You should replace this filter no less often than once a year.

The water pad worked perfectly in our humidifier and was delivered right on time. No complaints.
Cheaper than Home Depot February 15, 2010

Normally I would have drove up to HD to buy a replacement, but when I saw the price was at least [...] bucks cheaper here on Amazon, well there wasn't much question. This is exactly the right filter for my Aprilaire 600 home humidifier system. It was a quick and painless swap out and I learned a little about the cleaning of the holder when I did it.

The element in my humidifier was bad.
This one is identical to the manufacturers', but cost less. It was delivered quickly and fit right in with no problem at all.
It works as well as any of these devices do ( not that great) but if you already have an Aprilaire humidifier,
this is an easy-replace element for it.m If your humidifier drips you need a new element.
If you have never replaced one it is very easy.
